Here’s the dip that is loved by so many: a Lighter Spinach and Artichoke Dip… it’s nice to share a lighter version of the classic.
Well, I have to admit… I had it all wrong. I was calling for a Patriots vs. Niners Super Bowl. BUMMER. I’m going the classy route though, and I’m going to admit that the Broncos and Seahawks totally deserve to be in the final game. They both had amazing seasons, and it will be a fun Super Bowl to watch for sure.
And even if you don’t really care that much about football, the FOOD is really what matters on Super Bowl Sunday anyway, right? Here’s some food to get you started: some Lighter Spinach and Artichoke Dip. Readers have piped in and asked for some Super Bowl snacks on the lighter side. This one isn’t going to get you into a bikini or anything, but it’s definitely lighter than the original version you’ve probably tried at one point or another.
There are still some evil things in this dip to make it taste wonderful, just a little bit on the lower fat side of things.
You can nibble this with crackers or chips, but if you choose to dip carrots and celery in there instead, you’ll be making a wiser choice calorie-wise. If you happen to be following the Weight Watchers WW plan, you will find a link to the WW Points on the recipe card at the end of this post.
Yeah… take a big bite of that! Will you be watching the big game? Are you planning a menu to share with friends, or will you be going to a Super Bowl party? Or maybe you hate football and you’ll be going to a movie or shopping at the mall that day. In any case, this is a good appetizer to share any time of year. Enjoy!

Today is National Cheese Lovers Day and this is exactly what I wish I had to celebrate!
I enjoy spinach and artichoke dips, separately. I never thought to add them together. Great idea. Thanks!
I pegged the Patriots for a win, so I was definitely wrong also! The.Boy called a Seahawks Broncos Superbowl, so it will be interesting if he gets the winner right!
I so want this dip. Right now. ASAP.
This is my kind of dip… although I think it would be hard to be virtuous and only have the single serving!
I’m pretty shocked at the outcome of yesterday’s football, too, but I will definitely enjoy the Super Bowl…especially if this dip is party of it! 🙂
We love dips in this family, and this looks soooo inviting. I’m a total sucker for the crispy edges, too.
This dip looks totally killer. Spinach artichoke is my FAV dip…and a lighter version is just what I need!!
Oh yah, this needs to be made STAT 🙂 Happy Monday Lori!
My husbands favorite dip is spinach and artichoke but I am a terrible wife and never make it due to the calories. He is going to go crazy over this!! We don’t really watch the Superbowl, but we will be more than happy to stuff our faces with this anyways! Pinned!
Omg this looks insanely good! One of my fave foods in the whole world is spinach & arti dip and this is a salvation! I have a cheese recipe today too that came in at 106 cals but I rounded up! What are those odds. Pinned – this seriously is my fave recipe of yours in a long time!
