A mug of Hot Cranberry Tea will warm you up during the chilly holiday season!

Hot Cranberry Tea in two mugs

This recipe is made interesting because of the secret ingredient: red hots candies. Red hots are those little crunchy cinnamon candies that they sell in the baking aisle. They’re usually used to decorate cookies, but in this recipe they are simmered with the rest of the ingredients until they melt. Red hots lend a little bit of spice to the hot cranberry tea. Don’t worry… it won’t be spicy hot, but rather it just adds a burst of cinnamon flavor.

Ingredients needed:

  • water
  • tea bags
  • cranberry juice
  • frozen orange juice concentrate
  • frozen lemonade concentrate
  • red hots candies

How to make Hot Cranberry Tea:

The complete, printable recipe is at the end of this post.

Bring the water to boil in a medium saucepan. Add the tea bags to the boiling water and let them steep for 10 minutes. Remove the tea bags and pour the water into a slow cooker or large pot. Add the remaining ingredients.

Heat in the slow cooker (or on the stove over medium heat) until the red hots melt, stirring occasionally. Add fresh cranberry floaters, if you’d like- just to make things look festive.
