My Easy Salami Appetizer gets gobbled up at every party I host.

Easy Salami Appetizers on a silver platter

Easy Salami Appetizer

Sometimes you just need a super easy-to-make appetizer recipe that isn’t all that fancy.  I find that this recipe is perfect for sporting event parties (though I served them at my Christmas party last year too). Everyone likes salami, and these are perfect for just picking up and eating quickly while holding a beverage in the other hand. Someone long ago shared the 3-ingredients that make the appetizer happen. I tried it out on some party guests, and I’ve been making it ever since.

🛒Ingredients needed:

  • salami slices
  • whipped cream cheese
  • pepperoncini
  • toothpicks

Making Easy Salami Appetizers step-by-step

✏️How to make Easy Salami Appetizers:

*The complete, printable recipe with all ingredients and instructions is at the end of this post.

  1. Lay the salami on a flat surface. Spread each piece of salami with a little bit of cream cheese. Top with a piece of pepperoncini. Fold each piece of salami over and fasten with a toothpick. Pile on a platter, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. You’re done. It’s that easy!!!

➡️Recipe Tips:

  • Switching out thr pepperoncini for roasted red peppers or banana peppers was suggested by a Recipe Girl reader and it sounds like a great idea to me. Try it!
  • Another reader commented that she always serves club crackers next these because they pair so well together.
  • Still another Recipe Girl reader reminded me that there are some great flavored cream cheeses that would giver these salami appetizers a little different kick. Try Chive & Onion, Garlic & Herbs, Garden Vegetable or even Spicy Jalapeño.
  • For a big party, I like to buy the salami in bulk at Costco, and you can pick up a big tub of spreadable cream cheese there too.

✔️What to do with Easy Salami Appetizers:

  • If you’r having a big party, give yourself a little less to do on the “day of.” Make these a day or two ahead of time and just pop them in a big zip bag or seal container and refrigerate until it’s party time!
  • Serve these along with several of your favorite appetizers or try my Hot Brie Kisses or Salmon Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes.
  • If you have leftovers, try them in a salad the next day. Just take out the toothpicks and cut each appetizer into thirds. Sure, they’ll fall apart a bit, but you’ll still get all those wonderful flavors in your salad.

★How to Store:

If they don’t get gobbled up the day you serve them, pop the leftovers in a zip bag and munch on them for a couple days after that.

❤️Why I love this recipe:

  1. These are so easy too make and so popular that it’s impossible not to love them.
  2. Who doesn’t love a recipe with so few ingredients and NO mixing? I’ve even assigned my kiddo the task of putting these together. When getting ready for a party ALL help is wonderful.
  3. I’ve always loved salami and as an adult I’ve grown to love pepperoncinis, so the flavor combination is a big win for me.

These look SOOOO good! I make a similar version stuffed with pickled peppers (my husband’s uncle gives us a jar every year), but mine doesn’t include cream cheese–how dumb is that? I will make them your way next time because cream cheese is always an upgrade!

    xo

My mom makes these all the time but without the pepperonchini. I bet those add such great flavor! Totally doing that next time. Pinned!

I made them like this recently. I usually use Bruno’s wax peppers. Both are good.

    Lori,
I love that Costco salami–it’s big enough to use in interesting ways and thin enough to shove a slice into my mouth while I’m working on a pizza (yeah, that was last night).
I’ve got quarts of pickled peppers put up and think I’ll give this a shot with them.

    Thanks!
