Here’s a recipe for a Copycat Wendy’s Strawberry Frosty. This is the strawberry frosty that everyone loves from Wendy’s fast food restaurant.
Copycat Wendy’s Strawberry Frosty
Surely you’ve had a Wendy’s frosty, right? It’s thick and creamy and wonderful. I’m not much of a fast-food restaurant kind of gal, but their strawberry frosty draws you in and has you wanting more. Every once in a while, I’ll stop by Wendy’s just to grab a frosty. But now I have a copycat recipe you can make at home!
🛒 Ingredients Needed:
- strawberry milk
- Cool Whip
- whole milk
- sweetened condensed milk
✏️ How to make a Wendy’s Strawberry Frosty:
*The complete, printable recipe is in the recipe card at the end of this post.
Pour strawberry milk into ice cube trays; freeze until solid, at least 4 hours and up to 24 hours.
In a food processor, process frozen milk cubes, Cool Whip, milk and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
➡️ Tips and Substitutions:
- Whole milk will turn out a frosty that is more rich and creamy, but you can sub nonfat milk if you want to lighten things up.
- Use vanilla almond milk to make a vanilla frosty.
- Substitute eggnog for the strawberry milk to create an eggnog frosty.
- Add a little strawberry syrup or fresh strawberries to strengthen the strawberry flavor.
Pour into ice cream glasses and drink with a straw!
✔️ Is a Wendy’s frosty a milkshake or ice cream?
Neither! That is why it is one of the most iconic frozen desserts. It has a creamy texture that’s thicker than a milkshake but not as firm as traditional scooped ice cream.
❤️ What I Love About This Recipe:
- It’s a great sub for the Wendy’s frosty!
- If I make a frosty at home, I’m less likely to pick up a burger and fries!
- It’s quite a delicious treat.

This recipe sounds wonderful, but what would you suggest we do with the rest of the can of sweetened condensed milk? Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have!
It freezes beautifully! You can also use it in iced coffee- so delicious!
