These Mountain Christmas Cookies are pretty much just like chocolate chip cookies, but with using holiday M&M’s in place of the chocolate chips.

Why are these dubbed as mountain Christmas cookies? Well, we baked them when we were spending celebrating the holidays up in the snowy mountains of Colorado and they were eaten up quickly. So we kept the recipe, and now we bake them every year with that nice memory.

Cool the cookies for 1 minute on the baking sheet. Using a wide spatula, transfer the cookies to wire racks to cool completely.

These Mountain Christmas Cookies are hearty enough to nibble on after a long hike or a full day on the slopes or a day of holiday shopping. Pecans are added in for a little protein boost! You don’t have to add the pecans, but the extra crunch is nice. I find that if you use finely chopped pecans then that is best. Leave out the nuts if anyone is allergic. Enjoy!

Good recipe, I would replace the brown sugar with white sugar for a sweeter cookie. I used a tablespoon sized balls and pressed flat before baking. 10 mins w/2 min rest before cooling on wire rack. Worked well.

I use this recipe every year at Christmas and my grandkids love these cookies.
