These Baked Cuban Sliders are a recipe you’ll want to make again and again for all of your parties!
I have had several parties the last few months, and these sliders have been the star of the menu at every single one. They are incredibly delicious, and they are gobbled up so quickly because everyone loves them so much!
Inspiration for this recipe comes from my friend Serene at the House of Yumm blog. I changed the recipe just a tiny bit. And I need to thank Serene because I am totally obsessed with these Cuban Sliders!
How to make Baked Cuban Sliders:
For parties, I like to use the foil throw-away pans. This way, it’s easy to prepare them ahead and then just put them in the oven just before your party begins. You can also use regular 9×13-inch pans, but you’ll have some dishes to do.
Start with Hawaiian rolls. I like the King’s Hawaiian brand (the generic Hawaiian rolls just aren’t the same!) You can take the whole chunk of the dozen rolls and use a bread knife to slice the whole bunch in half horizontally. Then you’ll lay them in the pan. I like to pull them apart once they’re in the pan, but you can leave them connected if you’d like. The first layer on the rolls is deli ham. Just fold up slices and place a slice on top of each roll.
Next you’ll add a little piece of Swiss cheese. Swiss is classic for Cuban sandwiches, but if you don’t care for it then it’s okay to sub Havarti.
Next comes the pickle. You can either use little slices of dill pickle or cut the flat sandwich slices into smaller pieces.
Another slice of cheese goes on top of the pickle. These are going to be extra cheesy!
The tops of the rolls go on top! Again, I break mine apart, but you can leave the whole dozen in a solid chunk if you prefer. At this point, you’ll cover the pan with foil. You can put it in the fridge until you’re ready to bake it. Or bake it right away at 350 degrees F. for 10 minutes.
After baking for 10 minutes, you’ll remove the foil and add a simple sauce on top. The sauce is made of melted butter, dried minced onion and Dijon mustard. Just stir it all together and then spoon it over the partially baked sliders.
They come out of the oven all cheesy and buttery. They’re completely addicting! These Baked Cuban Sliders are great party food. Add them to your entertaining menus and the compliments will pour in!

Baked Cuban Sliders
Ingredients
SANDWICHES:
- Two dozen Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1 pound thinly sliced deli ham
- 12 thin slices Swiss cheese (each slice cut into 4 pieces)
- 24 slices dill pickle
TOPPING:
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉. Without separating the rolls, cut dozen of rolls (they're all stuck together) in half horizontally. Place the bottom half of the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch pan. If you don't have enough room for all 24 in the pan, you'll have to modify with an extra pan.
- Layer on top of the rolls: ham, cheese, pickle and another piece of cheese. You'll need to fold up the ham to fit it on top of the rolls. Place the top half of the rolls on top.
- In a medium bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Stir in onion and mustard. Drizzle over the rolls. Cover the rolls with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake for 10 more minutes.
Notes
- Make ahead: You can prep these sliders ahead of time and just pop them into the oven when ready to serve.

The great thing about a disposable pan is that you can make up a pan without baking and tote it to a friend’s house and heat it there. Totally recyclable later. I know being a blogger everyone wants me to cook for them (and it’s my pleasure to do so!) and since I don’t want to always be the one hosting the gameday watch parties the make-and-take works for me.
