Eggnog Punch is a delicious and decadent punch recipe that is perfect for the holidays!
I first had this punch when I was working as a third grade teacher– a long time ago! The parents in the PTA had a holiday party for the teachers, and this eggnog punch was served. I fell in love with the stuff. It’s definitely a decadent sort of punch. More like dessert than anything else. But it’s an indulgence that is totally worth it. It’s so delicious.
You can lighten things up a little bit, if you’d like by using low fat ingredients. But I don’t see any reason why you need to do that. Just go for it. Everyone loves this punch!
How to make Eggnog Punch:
The complete, printable recipe is at the bottom of this post.
First, you need a punch bowl! Scoop a whole gallon of vanilla ice cream into the punch bowl. Just scoop out scoops, one-by-one and add them to the punch bowl. Don’t worry about the ice cream melting.
Pour a half gallon of eggnog on top of the ice cream. Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon. Stir in a carton of thawed Cool Whip. That’s it! The ice cream will melt naturally as the punch sits at room temperature. That’s okay!
Ladle servings of eggnog punch into punch glasses or little mugs. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, if you’d like.
Can you make this punch with alcohol?
Yes! If you’d like to make this a rum-based eggnog punch, add as much rum as you’d like- to taste.
If you’re looking for more holiday punch recipes, I have a recipe for Rudolph’s Brunch Punch that is fun to serve at a cookie exchange or holiday brunch. And my Pomegranate Punch is another super pretty, non-alcoholic punch to make.
If you are looking for a punch that includes alcohol, I must recommend my Mom’s specialty from her days of hosting Christmas parties: Vodka Party Punch. Also, we made this Christmas Punch for a party that we hosted at my house the other night. Enjoy!

This is such a fun and easy recipe. Love it
I’m going to make this. I love eggnog 😘
Can you freeze the leftover punch or does it have to be thrower away?
I don’t think freezing will work well with punch…
Clicked on the link. Reading the recipe from the beginning, it says to put scoops of ice cream in the punch bowl and pour a half gallon of ice cream over the ice cream. I went to the printable recipe and it says to pour the egg nog over the ice cream.
oops, yeah that’s supposed to be pouring eggnog. Changed it- thank you for catching it!
Have you made this with alcohol? If so, what did you add?
You can add rum, if you’d like!
