Enjoy a quick frozen breakfast on the go with these breakfast popsicles made with yogurt, fruits, and chia seeds.
Popsicles for breakfast? My inner child is jumping for joy! Can this be true? Made with breakfast standards (yogurt, assorted fruits, chia seeds, and honey), it’s healthy morning food posing as a sweet treat. Paired with a handful of crunchy granola, you’ve got yourself an easy breakfast on the go.
Imagine how easy it would be to convince your kids to get out of bed. Instead of their usual bowl of cereal, imagine their eyes widening as you hand them a breakfast popsicle. You’ll definitely be the coolest parent in town. Kids of all ages would enjoy this treat. These breakfast popsicles would be a hit at weekend brunches. I’m sure they’d be a welcome addition at baby showers or bridal showers, too!
What ingredients are in Breakfast Popsicles?
I use full-fat plain Greek yogurt for these breakfast popsicles and sweeten them with honey. You could substitute your favorite flavored yogurt and use a variety of other sweeteners like maple syrup or agave nectar. Note that if you try to use low fat or nonfat yogurt, the popsicles will have more of an icy texture than a creamy texture.
The addition of chia seeds boosts the nutrients while also adding texture. These breakfast popsicles feature blueberries, strawberries, and kiwi. During the summer months, peaches and other stone fruits would be a great addition. Soft fruits like grapes, banana, and mango are perfect alternatives.
Regardless of the season, these breakfast popsicles would be a terrific way to start the morning! Best of all, they’re great any time of day. And kids love them too!
If you happen to be following the Weight Watchers program, the points for these popsicles are included at the top of this post. If you substitute low fat or non fat Greek yogurt, you can knock one point off the total (just know that it will change the texture of the popsicle).

So. I am allergic to kiwi, do you suggest any other kind of fruit I could add that would blend well with these ingredients? Otherwise, this recipe sounds amazing.
I think peaches might be amazing in place of kiwi!
Looks really good but I have never been a yogurt fan of any kind. Suggestion for anything besides Yogurt?
I’m not sure… I’ve only tried them with yogurt!
Do you have to soak the chia seeds first?
No they will soften up in the liquid.
I would love to try this for my mom. We would need to use non dairy yogurt and milk as she’s lactose intolerant now at her age. Will doing that still make these work ok?
I’m not so familiar with non dairy- but you can try!
I love the recipes but I would like to know the actual calories. I do not understand the kcals.
Those are just regular calories.
How do you get the fruit to stay in place
Just poke it on in there!
I love fruit flavor but not texture. Could I blend the fruit with the yogurt and still get a good consistency?
I have definitely not tried that, so you would be experimenting!
The moisture from the cut fruits allows it to stick to the sides of the popsicles molds. If that doesn’t work, I use a chopstick to hold the fruits in place while I gently pour in the liquid mixture.
Looks delicious! But how do you keep the fruit from piling up in the bottom of the mold?
I don’t have a popsicle mold and I really would like to buy the one you show in the recipe. Where is this this mold sold ?
The recipe was made quite some time ago, so I’m not sure. Check Amazon as they have a variety there!
My daughter has a hard time eating heavy food early in the morning, so this is PERFECT for her. Definitely making some today! Thanks for such an awesome idea.
