This is a go-to appetizer that you’ll make over and over again: Buffalo Chicken Dip.

Buffalo Chicken Dip in pan with celery and chips

Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe

This is one of those dip recipes that you’re going to want to dip into immediately… and then you’re going to have a really tough time not coming back to it again and again for more indulgent dipping!

🛒Ingredients needed:

  • chicken breasts
  • hot sauce
  • cream cheese
  • ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • celery
  • shredded Jack or Cheddar cheese

✏️How to make Buffalo Chicken Dip:

*The complete, printable recipe with all ingredients and instructions is at the end of this post.

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 9 inch ceramic pie dish with cooking spray.
  2. In the pan, combine chicken with hot sauce, spreading to form an even layer.
  3. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine cream cheese with dressing, stirring until smooth and hot. Pour this mixture evenly over chicken layer in pan. Sprinkle celery over the top.
  4. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Then sprinkle cheese on top and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until hot and bubbly. Watch closely… you don’t want the top to brown or it will form a crust.
  5. Let stand 10 minutes before serving hot/warm with celery sticks and/or any sturdy dipping chip.

➡️Recipe Tips:

  • Frank’s hot sauce is not as hot as Tabasco. It’s a buffalo kind of sauce that lends a calmer spicy flavor, so consider that when selecting a hot sauce.
  • If you or your guests aren’t celery fans, add some club crackers to your dipping options.
  • When your dip cools off, but you’re not done dipping, pop it in the microwave for about 30 seconds (dependent on your microwave and how much dip is left in the bowl).

✔️What to do with Buffalo Chicken Dip:

  • It’s a nice choice for a Super Bowl party or really any Game Day (since those are days where it’s perfectly okay to eat creamy, hot bubbling dips like this!).
  • .Pair this hearty dip with an appetizer featuring fresh produce like Stuffed Snow Peas or Greek Salad Cucumber Bites.
  • Be sure to have a variety of beverages on hand. If beer is among your choices, I’d suggest an amber or pale ale. Either is nice with this spicy dip.

★How to Store:

Leftover dip can be covered and stored in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days. Reheat it in short bursts in your microwave. Times will vary depending on your microwave and the amount of dip you’re reheating.

❤️Why I love this recipe:

  1. I love the combination of flavors in this decadent, hot, cheesy dip!
  2. My husband and I like hosting Game Day parties during football season and this dip is always a big hit.
  3. I like the choices in the recipe. In this I used Ranch and Cheddar cheese, but Blue cheese dressing with Monterey Jack are so yummy, too!

Ok, being a Buffalo guy (I’m rooting for the Buffalo Bills this Sunday in my heart!) I’m actually really excited about this dip. Frank’s Red Hot sauce in the best (and a locally made product). Definitely going to make this with good ole Frank. He’s been like my best friend. I put it on everything.
