So another way to help you stay warm during all those fall and winter months is to make some hot mulled ginger spiced cider. This recipe has the secret ingredient of apple jelly in it! It has plenty of spices in it too for a few hours of simmering. It turns out perfect!

Ingredients needed:

  • whole cloves
  • orange zest
  • whole allspice berries
  • cinnamon sticks
  • fresh ginger
  • apple cider
  • apple jelly
  • ground nutmeg

How to make Hot Mulled Ginger Spiced Cider:

Place the first 5 ingredients (through ginger) on a 5-inch-square of double layer of cheesecloth. Gather the edges of the cheesecloth together and tie securely.
 
Place the cheesecloth bag, cider, jelly, and nutmeg in a slow cooker (or a pot on the stove). Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours (simmer on low if on the stove). Remove and discard the cheesecloth bag.
