✏️How to make Shrimp Jambalaya:

*The complete, printable recipe with all ingredients and instructions is at the end of this post.

  1. Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium-heat. Add the kielbasa, onion and bell pepper; sauté 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add the rice; sauté 2 minutes. Add the salt and next 3 ingredients; sauté 1 minute.
  2. Add the water, broth, and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender.
  3. Stir in the shrimp and hot sauce; cover and cook 5 minutes or until the shrimp are done. Remove from heat; stir in the parsley.

➡️Recipe Tips:

  • If possible, use fresh shrimp. You’ll be glad you did!
  • You can clean and shell the shrimp yourself, but I usually look for ones where that’s already been done.
  • After placing the shrimp in the pan, watch carefully. Shrimp cook quickly and could be done in less than five minutes. You’ll know they’re cooked when they turn opaque and curl into a “C” shape.

Easy Shrimp Jambalaya in a pan

Jambalaya has French and Spanish roots. It’s a dish that originates from the French quarter of New Orleans. This version is more of a Creole (red) style of jambalaya with the addition of tomato.

✔️What to do with Shrimp Jambalaya:

  • Most importantly, enjoy its delicious flavors and make it often. Shrimp Jambalaya is a great comfort food!
  • Serve it for a crowd by doubling the recipe and using a larger pan.
  • Bake up a batch of Sweet Cornbread to serve with it.

★How to Store:

If you’re lucky enough to have leftovers, you can store them tightly covered in the refrigerator for a couple days.

  1. This mildly spicy dinner recipe is a nice diversion from chicken or pasta.
  2. I love how easy it is to make all in one pot and not dirtying up a ton of dishes.
  3. Shrimp Jambalaya is a good dinner-for-two kind of recipe because the next-day leftovers are awesome!
